Natural Limestone (CDK Stone — Portsea Grey)

Honed natural limestone benchtops feature in the primary kitchen.

  • Seal with a penetrating stone sealer every 6 to 12 months.
  • Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Do not use acidic, alkaline, or abrasive cleaners.
  • Wipe up spills immediately, especially acidic liquids (lemon, vinegar, wine, tomato).
  • Use chopping boards. Do not cut directly on the stone.
  • Use trivets or heat mats for hot items.

Natural Marble (CDK Stone — Arabescato Vagli)

  • Marble is softer than granite and is susceptible to etching from acidic substances.
  • All limestone care instructions above apply, with extra caution regarding acid etching.
  • Etching (dull spots from acid) is a maintenance issue, not a defect.
  • Professional honing can restore etched areas.

🚨 CRITICAL — Marble etches on contact with acid

Marble etches on contact with lemon juice, vinegar, wine, and many household cleaners. Always use pH-neutral products. Wipe spills immediately.

Engineered Stone (Caesarstone — 4001 Fresh Concrete)

  • Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or bleach.
  • Use trivets for hot pots and pans. Caesarstone can be damaged by sudden heat.
  • Does not require sealing.

Sintered Stone (Smartstone — Concreto Grigio)

  • Highly durable. Resistant to heat, scratches, and stains.
  • Clean with any non-abrasive household cleaner.
  • Does not require sealing.
