Stone Benchtops & Surfaces
Natural Limestone (CDK Stone — Portsea Grey)
Section titled “Natural Limestone (CDK Stone — Portsea Grey)”Honed natural limestone benchtops feature in the primary kitchen.
- Seal with a penetrating stone sealer every 6 to 12 months.
- Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner. Do not use acidic, alkaline, or abrasive cleaners.
- Wipe up spills immediately, especially acidic liquids (lemon, vinegar, wine, tomato).
- Use chopping boards. Do not cut directly on the stone.
- Use trivets or heat mats for hot items.
Natural Marble (CDK Stone — Arabescato Vagli)
Section titled “Natural Marble (CDK Stone — Arabescato Vagli)”- Marble is softer than granite and is susceptible to etching from acidic substances.
- All limestone care instructions above apply, with extra caution regarding acid etching.
- Etching (dull spots from acid) is a maintenance issue, not a defect.
- Professional honing can restore etched areas.
🚨 CRITICAL — Marble etches on contact with acid
Marble etches on contact with lemon juice, vinegar, wine, and many household cleaners. Always use pH-neutral products. Wipe spills immediately.
Engineered Stone (Caesarstone — 4001 Fresh Concrete)
Section titled “Engineered Stone (Caesarstone — 4001 Fresh Concrete)”- Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or bleach.
- Use trivets for hot pots and pans. Caesarstone can be damaged by sudden heat.
- Does not require sealing.
Sintered Stone (Smartstone — Concreto Grigio)
Section titled “Sintered Stone (Smartstone — Concreto Grigio)”- Highly durable. Resistant to heat, scratches, and stains.
- Clean with any non-abrasive household cleaner.
- Does not require sealing.
