Ice Makers (BREMA)

Alfresco entertaining

You have two BREMA ice makers in the alfresco area:

  • BREMA CB249A-HCQ-DP — 9 kg storage, 29 kg/24h, square cube ice
  • BREMA (25 kg storage model) — 25 kg storage, 48 kg/24h, square cube ice
  • Both units run continuously. Ice cubes drop into the storage bin automatically.
  • Empty the storage bin if ice isn’t used regularly to prevent fusion of cubes.
  • The drain line carries melted water away — keep the drain outlet clear.
  • Wipe the exterior stainless steel with a soft cloth and stainless steel cleaner. Wipe with the grain.
  • Drain and clean the water reservoir to prevent algae or scale build-up.
  • Wipe the interior of the storage bin with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse and dry before resuming.

Every 3 to 6 months (more frequently in hard water areas)

  • Descale the ice maker using a manufacturer-approved descaling solution. Run a complete descaling cycle and rinse thoroughly. Follow the descaling instructions in the BREMA manual (Appendix A of your printed kit).
  • Clean the condenser coils (located behind the unit). Dust reduces efficiency.
  • Have a licensed technician check the refrigerant lines and water connections.
  • Use harsh chemicals or abrasive scourers inside the unit.
  • Block the air vents around the unit — they need clearance for cooling.
