Important Information
Defects Liability Period (DLP)
Section titled “Defects Liability Period (DLP)”Your DLP is 12 months from Practical Completion (ABIC Clause M13, Item 25 of contract). A separate DLP Information Sheet has been provided with full details. Report defects to the Architect in writing, with a copy to Duo Build Group.
Statutory Warranty
Section titled “Statutory Warranty”Under the Building Work Contractors Act 1995 (SA), all building work carries a 5-year statutory warranty from completion. This operates independently of the contractual DLP.
Building Indemnity Insurance (BII)
Section titled “Building Indemnity Insurance (BII)”Your BII certificate is included in the handover pack. This protects you if the builder cannot complete work or rectify defects due to death, disappearance, or insolvency. A separate BII Acknowledgement Statement has been provided and is signed at handover.

How DLP + Statutory Warranty Work Together
Section titled “How DLP + Statutory Warranty Work Together”The statutory warranty (5 years from completion) operates independently of the 12-month contractual DLP. After the 12-month DLP expires, you retain your statutory rights for the remainder of the 5-year period.
