Paint & Stain (Interior & Exterior)

Painted interior surfaces

Interior Paint (Dulux Wash & Wear Low Sheen)

Section titled “Interior Paint (Dulux Wash & Wear Low Sheen)”

All interior walls are finished in Dulux Wash & Wear Low Sheen. Touch-up paint has been provided in labelled containers with your handover pack.

  • For dust and light marks: wipe with a soft damp microfibre cloth.
  • For scuffs and stains: damp cloth with mild detergent (a few drops of dishwashing liquid in warm water). Do not scrub aggressively or in tight circles — this can polish the paint and create a sheen difference.
  • Always wipe in the direction of the original paint application where possible.
  • Test any cleaning method on a small inconspicuous patch first.
  • Stir the touch-up paint thoroughly before use.
  • Apply with a small roller (not a brush) for the best blend with surrounding wall.
  • Feather the edges by lifting the roller gradually as you reach the edge of the touched-up area.
  • Spot touch-ups may still be visible in raking light. Repainting the full wall gives the best result if a spot touch-up doesn’t blend.
  • Use abrasive cleaning pads, scouring sponges, or harsh chemical cleaners.
  • Use solvent-based cleaners — they can soften the paint film.
  • Allow water to pool against painted skirtings or architraves.

Exterior surfaces are finished in Dulux Weathershield.

  • Wash annually with a garden hose and soft brush to remove dirt, dust, and surface mould.
  • For mould or persistent grime: a mild detergent solution applied with a soft brush, rinsed thoroughly.

⚠️ CAUTION — No high-pressure washers

Do not use high-pressure water blasters — they can drive water behind cladding and into wall cavities.

  • Expect to repaint exterior surfaces every 7 to 10 years depending on orientation and exposure.
  • South-facing and west-facing walls may need repainting sooner due to weather exposure.
  • Have the surface inspected for chalking, peeling, or flaking before the next full repaint.
